2026 Edition of Mauritius–Africa Scholarship Scheme
The Higher Education Council (HEC) wishes to inform the general public that, through bilateral cooperation between the Government of Rwanda and the Government of Mauritius, the Republic of Mauritius is offering scholarships for the 2026 academic intake.
The scholarships are available at different levels of study, including Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), in public Higher Education Institutions in Mauritius.
Required Application Documents
Interested candidates are required to submit the following documents:
- Application letter addressed to the Director General of HEC
- National ID or valid passport
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Completed application form
- Certified copy of birth certificate
- Certified copy of the bio-data page of the passport
- Certified copies of educational certificates and academic transcripts
- Copy of a conditional offer letter from a public Higher Education Institution (HEI) in Mauritius (if available at the time of application), or an acknowledgement notice from a Mauritian public HEI confirming that the application for a seat has been submitted and the application fee paid
- Medical certificate duly completed and signed by a registered medical practitioner (Section 6 of the application form) and appropriately stamped
- Study or research plan for candidates applying for Master’s and PhD programs
- Supporting statement from a named supervisor from a University in Mauritius (for PhD applicants only)
