China–Rwanda Government Scholarships 2026/2027 Announced by HEC
The Higher Education Council (HEC) has officially announced the availability of bilateral cooperation scholarships between the Government of the Republic of Rwanda and the People’s Republic of China for the academic year 2026/2027.
The scholarships are open to Rwandan students wishing to pursue Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD programs, with studies scheduled to begin in September 2026.
Available Study Levels
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Master’s Degree
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Required Application Documents
Interested candidates must submit the following documents:
- Application letter addressed to the Director General of HEC
- National ID or valid passport
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Senior Six results slip for undergraduate applicants
- Original notified certificates and transcripts for postgraduate applicants
- Completed Chinese Government Scholarship application forms and Medical Physical Examination form (available on the HEC website)
- Recommendation from employer (an added advantage for Master’s and PhD applicants)
Academic Requirements
- Bachelor’s applicants: At least 80% in the 2025 Senior Six National Examinations or equivalent
- Master’s applicants: Bachelor’s Degree with at least Second Class Upper Division or equivalent
- PhD applicants: Master’s Degree with a good pass
