Morocco has officially written history as the first African country to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a tournament that will be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The Atlas Lions sealed their ticket after a dominant 5-0 victory over Niger in a Group E matchday 7 clash, held at Complexe Sportif Moulay Abdellah on Friday night, September 5, 2025.
Goals that made history
- Ismaeil Saibari scored twice in the first half, setting the tone for Morocco’s emphatic win.
- Ayoub El Kaabi, Hamza Igamane, and Azzedine Ounahi also found the back of the net.
This qualification marks Morocco’s third consecutive World Cup appearance (2018, 2022, and now 2026), and their seventh overall.
