Rwanda: Two Men Arrested with Drugs Transported in an Unusual Way

In Rwanda, in the Nyamagabe district of the Southern Province, two men were arrested while transporting marijuana to a woman who is reportedly involved in selling it.
According to the news from the Umuseke.rw, on Thursday, August 7, 2025, around 3 PM, a man named Sinamenye Theoneste, aged 38, was caught with 3 kilograms of marijuana concealed on his body, wrapped under his clothes.

According to the law, anyone who produces, cultivates, modifies, possesses, stores, gives to another person, or sells drugs in Rwanda is liable to a life sentence and a fine ranging from 20 million to 30 million Rwandan francs. Additionally, the Rwanda police warn all people who consume, inhale, inject, smoke, or use any form of light drugs or mixtures of such substances that these acts are criminal offenses. Those found guilty may be sentenced to imprisonment ranging from one to two years or assigned community service.
