Backed by executive producer Uwiduhaye Olivier, the film was written and directed by Bujyakera (Nduwayo Benone), with post-production led by editor Umuragwa (Hertier). Coded Love isn’t just a love story—it’s a social commentary exploring the dark realities of workplace exploitation, corporate secrets, and moral resilience.
The Plot: A Daughter’s Search for Truth
At the heart of Coded Love is Anitha, a determined young woman who sets out to uncover the truth behind her father's sudden disappearance. Her father, once an employee at a powerful company, vanished under mysterious circumstances tied to a top-secret project named Recovery 2004. Rather than letting the past fade, Anitha chooses to walk directly into the world that swallowed her father—by applying for a job at the same company.
However, things take a dark turn when Anitha is offered the position only after being pressured for a sexual favor by the company's boss. She refuses, yet manages to secure the job by demonstrating her strength and intelligence. Later in the story, when the boss tries to fire her for not keeping the unspoken “deal,” Anitha turns the tables by revealing that she has begun to uncover hidden truths about his past and his involvement in her father’s case. Fearing exposure, the boss allows her to stay on, and Anitha’s investigation intensifies.
Romance Amidst Shadows: Eric and Anitha
While working at the company, Anitha meets Eric—a bright, principled young man who falls in love with her. Their connection is genuine and strong, but their love is tested by external forces, especially Diane, a woman obsessed with Eric. Diane's jealousy drives her to sabotage their relationship through manipulation and deceit.
Despite the obstacles, Anitha and Eric fight to protect their love while continuing to pursue the mystery behind her father’s disappearance. Together, they uncover disturbing truths about corporate corruption, hidden archives, and silenced employees linked to Recovery 2004.
